Purpose of the role:
You will work within a collaborative Finance Team, primarily responsible for maintaining the accounts payable ledgers for all suppliers, preparing and posting general ledger entries, and being the key point of contact to any internal and external AP queries. Duties include:
Record, classify and summarise financial transactions into the accounting software package MS Business Central
Process and maintain accounts payable, and filing all documentation - This will include preparing payments (including FX transactions) for approval as per the DFA (Delegated Financial Authority policy);
Reconcile supplier statements on a monthly basis
Prepare and accurately post general ledger journals and entries
Assist the Accountant with information to maintain an accurate fixed asset register
Providing support and assistance at month and year end
Analysis of general ledger transactions on an ad hoc basis
Respond to enquiries relating to Accounts Payable
General filing and record maintenance
Provide support to Finance Manager for cash flow forecasting
Ensure all external audit queries are answered and a clean audit report is obtained
Continuous improvement - look for ways to improve our accounting practices and procedures
What we are looking for:
You?ll be experienced and confident overseeing the AP function, and enjoy working at pace, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policy. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional, who is highly skilled at relationship building and can adapt their communication style to different audiences. We?re looking for someone who brings:
Minimum 2 years financial and account experience in a similar role
Relevant accounting tertiary qualification would be an advantage
Sound understanding of general ledger coding, account structures and profit &
Proficient with software applications, databases, spreadsheets and/or word processing skills
Strong problem solving, numerical and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
High attention to detail is essential, and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, prioritise, plan and organise workload to meet deadlines
Natural curiosity for identifying opportunity to improve processes
