The new Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is the Government\ 's lead advisor on housing and urban development and will deliver the Government\ 's programme to address homelessness, increase public and private housing supply, make existing homes warmer and healthier, make housing affordable for people to rent and buy, and lead quality urban development strategies to create thriving communities.
The Housing Supply, Response and Partnerships group leads work to address New Zealanders\ ' housing needs both now and in the future. The group includes both policy and delivery-focused functions, providing advice to the Government on preventing and reducing homelessness, and funding the delivery of public housing, transitional housing, and housing related support services to tackle homelessness in New Zealand. The group works closely with other parts of HUD, and with HUD\ 's partners, including K?ingaOra ? Homes and Communities, community and transitional housing providers, developers, social services, councils and other agencies.

The Business Development Manager is a key role within the group, focused on establishing relationships to identify, progress and partner with the housing sector to convert opportunities for public and transitional housing supply. This will include, working with a broad range of organisations and agencies to develop funding proposals, manage the relationship of key internal and external stakeholders to HUD\ 's public housing strategy and leading commercial negotiations with our partners for related funding and development agreements.
About you | M?u
You will have a strong commercial background with specialist experience working on residential property developments and initiatives. You will have significant experience in managing a broad range of stakeholder relationships in a fast paced, complex environment.
Your experience will include:
Must have a strong background in residential property development and/or project management specific to construction/property development
Experience negotiating agreements relating to funding and/or leasing multi-unit property developments
Relationship management expertise, preferably in a residential property development or construction/infrastructure environment
Preferably an understanding of relevant legislation, government and local government policies and processes relating to procurement and the public sector
Comfortable working within a fast moving and at times ambiguous, environment
Sound knowledge of the various stages of development including feasibility, the principles of partnering, contract management and due diligence undertaken during property development projects, and;
Commercial propertyawareness of housing supply and demand.
