We host more than one million manuhiri (visitors) a year across our thirteen iconic businesses, with a fourteenth, the All Blacks Experience, due to open in 2020. Are you passionate about astronomy - and more importantly, a great storyteller? Do you enjoy creating 'out of this world' experiences for others? We're on the hunt for a Dark Sky Project Guide (Mandarin Speaking) - a passionate guide who can help us connect manuhiri (visitors) to our stars, our place and culture through the art of storytelling. We have just opened our new world-class Astronomy Centre on Takap? lakefront, bringing to life the science of stars and T?tai arorangi (M?ori astronomy) through a new immersive and engaging international experience. This experience is a world-first and already attracting interest from significant domestic and international partners. The new centre also features lakefront dining which promises to be a key highlight to domestic and international visitors to the region. We take great pride in welcoming manuhiri to our wide range of experiences across Aotearoa. Manaakitanga (hospitality) is one of the core values that drives the way we do business. Our Ideal Applicant Will:
be passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences be fluent in english and mandarin have some astronomy knowledge (a willingness to learn is a must), and ideally have some knowledge on how to use a telescope enjoy breathing life into our experiences through clever storytelling be able to multi task at times, and stay cool under pressure be able to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays anything could happen in a day - and we need someone who isn't afraid of a long and varied to-do list! if "kia ora and welcome to earth & sky" rolls off your tongue, get in touch! looking to find out a little bit more about us? check us out here:
