We have a vacancy in our blood donation collection team. No experience is required as full training will be given, but you must be comfortable working with blood and needles.
32 Permanent part time hours per week!
At NZ Blood Service (NZBS), Enrolled Nurse\ 's and Donor Technicians workunder the supervision of a Registered Nurse and are key members of the Collections team, undertaking venepuncture procedures related to blood collection and a number of administrative duties.
NZBS has the sole responsibility for collecting, processing and distributing blood for transfusion in New Zealand and through the generosity of our fellow New Zealanders, we are able to help save lives.

Our Donors regularly go out of their way, giving up their time to donate blood and plasma and we focus on their excellent donation experience encouraging their continued support. You\ 'll be a great communicator with good written and verbal skills, vital for reassuring the donor every step of the way. You will need to be fairly fit as we load and unload the equipment necessary for the mobile blood drives.
The position available is Part Time (32 hours per week) and generally worked Monday to Friday, with some varying lengths of days and worked in shifts. You will be based out of our hub site in Christchurch and be required to work at mobile blood drive locations locally and around the South Island requiring short stays away. Occasional weekend/statutory holiday duties may also be required. Flexibility is key!

We welcome enquiries from experienced Enrolled Nurses, Qualified Donor Technicians or Medical Laboratory Pre- Analytical Technicians who will utilise their well-developed health assessment, critical thinking and reflective practice skills to contribute to all aspects of the collection of blood products in our Christchurch Donor Centre and also those who are looking to start out in this field.
Preferred but not essential, it would be an advantage if you had registration with the Medical Laboratory Sciences Board or NZ Nursing Council.
