ABOUT OUR TEAM
The Intelligence Unit leads the Ministry\ 's intelligence informed approach to external and internal integrity related risks and threats that the Ministry, its staff, assets and programmes may face. The Intelligence Unit applies an evidence-based approach to regulatory compliance problems at:
A strategic level with a strong focus on prevention? Providing operational and tactical intelligence support to regionally based Fraud Intervention Services Units
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Intelligence Analyst works collaboratively with the Intelligence Leadership team to assist the Manager:
Intelligence Unit in providing tactical and operational intelligence advice to Ministry stakeholders, in order to assist in the development of intelligence strategies, products, processes and provide support to operational and investigation activity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Developing and promoting an intelligence culture through new project initiatives, work processes and developing/maintaining key internal and external relationships? identifying trends, linkages between people, organisations and integrity issues in respect to Service Delivery functions and MSD more broadly? supporting investigations and projects by applying the intelligence analysis discipline to problems using intelligence tools as appropriate? contribute to all of government intelligence initiatives as appropriate and work co-operatively with other government agencies in order to support law enforcement and other regulatory agencies
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge of the intelligence analysis discipline - processes and techniques? to be a practical and logical thinker, with the ability to work collaboratively while actively identifying and managing organisational risks? knowledge/experience in computer tools in the areas of information management, geospatial (ArcGIS) and specialised intelligence software (e.G. i2 Analyst\ 's Notebook or Palantir) is highly desirable
It would be an advantage if you had:
Knowledge and understanding of the Social Security Act 1964 and other related or relevant legislation? knowledge and understanding of the Ministry with emphasis on benefit types, pensions and supplementary allowances
