About the opportunity
Our planners are part of a national environment, spatial, planning and parks team that are involved in a diverse range of exciting projects, providing resource consent preparation and support, notice of requirement preparation, strategic planning advice, business case development and stakeholder engagement. Our planners are recognised as often being the front face of our organisation and play a lead role in making Jacobs a successful business.
Our Auckland Team is inviting applications from experienced and client focussed applicants for this Intermediate to Senior level planning position. As a Planner with previous consultancy or local government experience, you will be responsible for delivering professional RMA planning services to our clients across a wide range of project types. With your proven skills in client relationship management and business development, you would take the lead on specific planning opportunities and projects in New Zealand, and actively drive the identification, pursuit and development of new business and work collaboratively across the wider Jacobs team. You would also help grow our capability through mentoring graduates and junior Planners in our team.
About you
Qualifications and skills required for this role include:

  • A relevant and recognised planning degree (or significant relevant experience)
  • Proven experience in private sector, regional council or local authority planning
  • Ability to contribute to and lead business development activities
  • A demonstrable understanding of the RMA and NZ planning framework
  • An innovative and strategic thinker
  • Effective report writing and communication skills and ability to manage your own time
