Te Au Rangahau M?ori Business and Leadership Centre is based within the Massey
Business School (Te Kura Whai Pakihi) at Massey University.
Te Au Rangahau (translating as ?a pathway to M?ori research in business?) aims to
Advance business and leadership knowledge that benefits the M?ori economy.
We conduct collaborative research across disciplines, institutions and borders on
Indigenous entrepreneurship, innovation, and enterprise in multiple sectors, sites and
Scales, including the M?ori marine economy, M?ori agribusiness, M?ori tourism and
The Postdoctoral Fellow role will contribute to our ambition to deliver world-leading
Research, conducted in partnership with M?ori, industry and communities we serve. The
Ideal candidate will provide high quality research support to Te Au Rangahau to help
Them achieve a programme of research that reflects the needs of both our national and

Accountability 1 Research
? Undertake and contribute to research for assigned projects. This
O Literature reviews (searching and summarising information, use of
O Data collection (conducting interviews and/or survey design and
O Analysis of research findings and writing up results into high quality
? Contributing to the development of research proposals for funding and
? Preparing generalcommunication on research progress and outcomes.Accountability 2 Service to the community
? Participate in community service activities that support the kaupapa of
Te Au Rangahau;
? Assist in organising and arranging stakeholder engagement events and
Activities.Accountability 3 University responsibilities
? Assist Massey University to give effect to its obligations under the
Treaty of Waitangi;
? Ensure observanceof university policy and codes of practice in all
? Contribute to thedevelopment of a working environment of teamwork
? Any other duties as required by the Associate Head of School.Qualifications and Experience
PhD qualification (or nearing completion), and demonstrated research
? Previous research experience ? qualitative and/or quantitative ? in a
Tertiary education or private sector environment;
? Previous experience in business, community or academic
Communication ? Conducts discussions in a respectful manner, which are sincere and
? Develops a clear, complete understanding of needs and problems
Through careful listening, probing, reflecting, and summarising.
? Interacts positively and appropriately with a variety of people in

IT/Computing/Admin ? Sound knowledge and skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel,
Powerpoint), Sharepoint, and the use of general office systems

NVivo, and various quantitative research packages.
Social/Cultural ? able to conduct research in a culturally appropriate and efficient

And te reo M?ori.
