We are looking to fill a vacancy in our Investment team to support the Ministry of Transport?s purpose - to enable New Zealanders to flourish, with a transport network that improves wellbeing and liveability.
We are working across government to deliver the Provincial Growth Fund (PGF). We support the allocation of three billion dollars to help regions reach their full potential and achieve better economic and social outcomes.
The Ministry of Transport administers a significant portion of PGF funding. In doing so, we engage with partner agencies to oversee and disperse funds in line with good practice.
We are seeking a Senior Assurance Adviser to lead our oversight of PGF transport projects. Key responsibilities include:
Establishing strong relationships with the Provincial Development Unit (which oversees the Fund) and government partners including Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, KiwiRail and the Treasury
Shaping contractual responsibilities that make for a transparent flow of funding into the transport sector
Developing and managing control systems, processes and governance structures for effective monitoring, assurance and reporting
Overseeing our range of funding agreements, contracts and memorandums of understanding
What you will bring
You will be a policy professional with experience in managing entity responsibilities, relationships and agreements. You will have the agility to identify risks and opportunities, and develop a programme of action. The ideal candidate will build relationships with partner agencies and be comfortable completing quantitative analysis to inform advice.
