The Group is accountable for all cyber and physical security issues, ensuring that the Transport Agency meets its ongoing security and compliance obligations.
The Business Intelligence Services team builds data driven solutions to provide information and insights to internal teams and to the wider public.

The purpose of this role is to identify, prepare and release datasets to open data platforms in partnership with team members, internal and external stakeholders. The role requires two core skill-sets:
strong business engagement capability and the technical ability to deliver agreed data solutions.
This role is hands-on, focused on delivery. You will understand exactly what datasets the business wants to release to the public then write ETL or other processes to make that happen using our preferred tool sets. Along the way, you will ensure we are protecting people\ 's privacy, including the application of confidentialisation techniques where appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Delivery of multiple data solutions using extract/transform/load (ETL), business intelligence (BI) or data warehousing (DW) tools
Proven experience in business analysis and data preparation
Substantial experience with SQL to navigate large and sometimes complex datasets
Understanding of privacy and confidentialisation principles and techniques
Experience using an ETL (extract, transform, load) tool;
FME and ArcGIS experience would be an advantage
The ability to evaluate and resolve complex issues, translating them into audience-appropriate language
Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of and experience with agile delivery methods
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modelling such as star schema and data vault would be preferable
