About The Role
This role sits across our ANZ Payments Platforms ? Internationally and Domestically ? with a path into a partnership with our Australian counterparts. The PSSRE (Payments Systems Site Reliability Engineering) Squad will work cohesively as an autonomous unit, but also collaboratively with the already existing independent build and run squads operating at ANZ. The primary focus and purpose of the role will be to ensure that business critical systems are maintained and developed to an agreed high standard ? replicating the high quality of technologies and skillsets that will be available throughout this squad. In addition, it is imperative to our customers that our strong standards are maintained and no compromise is given with regards to data integrity and security.To ensure ANZ stay ahead of the curve, it is essential that this role is always moving forward and embracing a Continuous Integration Continuous Development pipeline and mind-set ? always striving to operate at the penultimate level whilst adopting new, exciting and potentially challenging methodologies.In this role you will:
Have primary responsibility to operate in the Payments SRE Squad with an initial focus of maintaining and upgrading Storage Infrastructure
Join a collaborative DevOps environment with a focus on continuous improvement and empowering others.
Be passionate about making change in the SRE environment and have a approachable personality to engage with stakeholders at varying levels
Operate cohesively with our Australian equivalents to ensure that both NZ and AU systems are maintained effectively and efficiently
To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following:
Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or have a full understanding of stack development and maintenance ? essentially from a DevOps background
Have a strong understanding of the principles of which DevOps and SRE in particular revolve
Platform agnostic storage stack performance engineering (host, fabric and storage appliance) experience in SAN, DSF (Distributed Storage Fabric) NAS and DAS. This is inclusive of high availability engineering for all payments datastores
Data Protection, Continuity and Backup:
Schema/Catalogue Management and Technology Selection (including CDP services) Operational Management, long term monitoring and management of backup performance target delivery (RTO and RPO as a composite of set recovery, rebuild and restoration)
Have knowledge of SDS (Software Defined Storage)/IaC (Infra. as Code) and Automation Frameworks ? e.G. puppet, Ansible.
Storage security experience in one or more standards areas:
FIPS, NIST or ISO
Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Confluence)
Contanerisation (Docker) and container management platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, GKE etc)
A desire to learn multiple disciplines in the SRE squad ? including but not limited to:
Experience with CI/CD
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ? being able to communicate at all levels.
Self managing and a self starter.
