Toi Ohomai delivers quality vocational education and training to both domestic and international students, across five main campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Taup?, Tokoroa and Whakat?ne, and 68 delivery sites across the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato. Technology (working name) and part of a transformational change unifying all 16 Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics across Aotearoa;
together with other work-based, provider-based and online learning. This full-time fixed term role is for an Academic Staff Member (ASM) within the Primary Industries Trades and Logistics faculty. The role will be based in Blenheim and already has an existing cohort of students. As an ASM within this team you will be required to teach in the classroom and in the field, tutor students;
research, review, and update resources and classroom materials;
set and mark assessments and enter results;
assist with the recruitment and care of students;
and actively participate in the team and school environment. As a Forestry ASM you will report to the Academic Leader for Forestry and Wood Manufacturing
Key to your success in this role will be your ability to demonstrate:
Comprehensive knowledge of manual harvesting in production Forestry
Excellent health and safety knowledge
A high level of chainsaw and other harvesting skills
A level of computer literacy skills
Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with people at all levels;
Self-management andworking effectively individually and within a team;
A high level of professionalism, confidentiality and ethical conduct
