AUC04730) We are inviting applications for an electronics role for candidates who have three plus years’ experience in the electronics field to join our team as a Biomedical Engineering Technician (BMET). is NZ’s 4th largest DHB with approximately 11000 employees and provides medical services to the central Auckland region and some specialised services to other DHBs regionally and nationally. Our services are based on three sites – Auckland Hospital, Starship Children’s Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre. The BMET role is a full time role and is responsible for providing services relating to the maintenance, safety/performance testing, calibration and technical evaluation of clinical equipment that are provided to the clinical departments. In this role you be expected to meet and often exceed customer requirements and collaborate with them to deal with their queries and technical queries. The position is primarily based at Auckland City Hospital, with occasional travel to other sites. This role is responsible for providing technical services primarily to the Oncology department to a standard that meets their expectations. This will involve;

00 am

And 19:
00 pm. occasionally overtime and work on public holidays is required. performing the morning start-up procedure on up to six linear accelerators (four varian and two elekta machines) depending on your transferable skills training will be provided until proficiency is attained. responding to machine problems during patient treatment and following established procedures in reporting and escalating faults. performing basic electronics’ such as disassembly and assembly of components/parts. working with the machine agent to perform more complex fault finding, repairs and parts replacement. during quiet times in oncology i. e. all machines are running well, you will be expected to take on other tasks such as performance verification and testing of other medical devices. as the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
