Credit & Risk Manager
My client is a NZ technology company with international operations. The business has gone from strength to strength over the years since its inception in 2009. Now the company is circa $300M with approximately 200 staff in various countries. This company goes very much under a radar and continues to be a real success story.
The role of Credit Manager will report directly to the CFO. This is a newly created role where the business has made the decision to add this greenfields role due to their continued growth. The credit controllers sit within the regional branch structures and thus far the company has had minimal exposures or risk. However they want to ensure it stays that way and would like to hire a person who can help the company optimise the company sales by actively managing the risk exposure and continually assessing the acceptable risk profile across each Company within the group in multiple geographies. Your role will include:
Develop and standardise written policy documentation related to credit worthiness and customer set up processDevelop and recommend risk tolerance measure for each countryCreate a country credit risk assessment compliance dashboardCreate credit scoring models for risk assessmentBeing the subject matter expert on debtor &
economic risk within each company and communicate accordingly.Recommend to management changes in credit policiesInterface with sales to communicate credit decisions and ensure timely review of customers and develop strong relationships internallyProvide for ongoing training of the credit staff within each countryEvaluate credit worthiness of potential customers and ensure periodic reviews are conductedManage relationships with collection agencies, credit insurance providers and credit reporting agenciesAssist managers in dealing with customers who are outside designated risk levelsPrepare reports both internally &
externally on credit exposuresManage any required processes on delinquent debtorsManage the company\ 's insurance risks
My client is looking for an experienced person who has demonstrated prior experience in building up the policies &
procedures of a company\'s credit exposures. What is incredibly important is your ability to bring a commercial view to the business and your ability to build strong relationships both internally &
externally. This business has long standing customer relationships that need to be understood and we are looking for someone that brings a pragmatic approach to the business.
You will need to be down to earth, have a common sense approach and an ability to think laterally. You will also need to be analytical in nature and be able to demonstrate the ability to assess risks appropriately and understand that not all decisions are black &
This role doesn\ 't have any formal staff management but is a hugely influential role and we need the successful person to be able to build strong relationships.
The company has a flexible working environment;
essentially you could work from home 2-3 days per week if you desire or alternatively can spend your time in the offices in Penrose.
