We have an exciting opportunity starting mid-August 2019 for someone with proven leadership and management experience. Based in Te Anau you will manage a busy 88 bed hostel will report to our Southern Area Manager. As Hostel Manager you will be responsible for:
Providing exemplary service to guests ensuring they have a great YHA experience. Providing inspirational leadership to the hostel staff and promoting YHA as an employer of choice. Ensuring the seamless day to day operation of the hostel, contributing to the efficient and effective provision of clean, comfortable, safe and secure accommodation for guests and the optimal use of the hostel throughout the year. Maintaining clear communication channels with hostel staff and ensuring the Area Manager is informed about key matters with regards to the hostel. Adhering to the mission, values and policies of YHA. Key attributes sought in the appointee include:
Experience in leading the delivery, administration and/or management of customer-based services within a comprehensive network. Experience in, or an aptitude for, the development and implementation of new business, marketing and sales initiatives. A leadership style which is inclusive and participatory, as well as focussed on outcomes and results. A team working style which models responsiveness to staff needs through respectful collaboration and open and direct communication and the fair and equitable use of delegated authority. Personal resilience and highly developed time and workload management skills. A little about Te Anau?..
